Meet the Chef

Trained by illustrious chefs in prestigious establishments such as Bruno d'Angelis (1 Michelin star), Michel Kayser (2 Michelin stars) and Glenn Viel (3 Michelin stars), Chef Denis Martin has immersed himself in the greatest gastronomic know-how. After a year spent at the "Ritz-Carlton" in Montreal, he truly took off when, in 2015, he became the second in command to Fabien Fage, 1 Michelin star Chef at the "Prieuré" in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. This collaboration quickly led the two chefs to take on an exceptional challenge in 2018: taking the reins of the iconic restaurant "The Marcel" in Sète. Under their direction, the restaurant obtained its first Michelin star in 2019, after only 7 months of opening, a remarkable feat in the world of haute cuisine. In 2021, at just 33 years old, Denis Martin took sole charge of the Michelin-starred restaurant "The Marcel," cementing his place among the great chefs of the French gastronomic scene. Passionate about local produce and deeply rooted in Mediterranean flavors, he invites his guests to discover his world. In 2024, the chef, his wife Joana, and his children Ophélie and Mathilde fell in love with "La Belle Vie."
